Your data
Deleting your account
You can delete your Thriving account and everything in it whenever you want, from inside the app, without asking anyone and without talking to anyone first.
Export first, if you want to
Settings → Privacy & Data → Export. You get a machine-readable copy of your items, documents and history. Do this before deleting — deletion is final, and we cannot undo it for you afterwards.
Then delete
Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete account, and confirm.
If you can't get into the app, write to [email protected] from the address on the account. We'll verify it's you and do it within 30 days.
What goes
- Your account and sign-in details.
- Every item: tasks, events, bills, documents, orders, renewals and their history.
- Uploaded documents and scans, and any text extracted from them.
- Connected email and calendar permissions — access stops immediately.
- Your entry on any Thriving mailing list.
It goes from live systems promptly and from encrypted backups within 30 days. We keep only what the law requires us to, such as purchase records for accounting, and none of what you captured.
Things worth knowing
A shared plan is not yours alone. If you are in a plan with other people — a trip, a move, a wedding — deleting your account removes you from it and takes your own record with you. What the others put in stays theirs.
A subscription is separate. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel that in your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple Account → Subscriptions, or Apple will keep billing you for an account that is gone.
Leaving the mailing list is not deleting your account. Use the unsubscribe link in any email for that — it does not touch your data in the app.
What we collect in the first place, and why, is in the privacy policy.
